INSPIRED BY SUMMER
Food is almost always defined by the seasons, from the temperature in the air to the produce that’s available. The days are getting longer and hotter and winter fare such as parsnips, oranges and cabbage is making way for fresh berries, seafood and tomatoes. With the New Zealand summer starting to take hold in such wonderful ways, it’s only natural the food we eat reflects our lifestyle at this time of year. That’s why our talented and inspired chefs have created a summer menu for CBK that you simply won’t want to miss.
Perfectly combining fresh produce and the summer lifestyle along with CBKs signature Kiwi vibe, this is a range of dishes that is sure to delight the pallets of our loyal members and their guests. From traditional favourites that our diners love and expect, to new creations that will encourage repeat visits, we believe our new summer menu will suit everyone.
Breakfast has been inspired by fresh fruit, with the amazingly soft and succulent French crumpets being a great hit, served with blueberry compote, banana and fresh berries or a decedent Maple bacon crumpet with sliced banana and ice-cream sandwich there is a tough choice to be made. This year we will be making our own bacon, using our in house smokers, make sure you come and try this great addition to many of the old favorite dishes! Eggs Bene with homemade bacon on potato rosti, smothered in hollandaise with oozing poached eggs, is always enough to cure the night before blues!
Our street food section has grown and is a mix of old and new, perfect for a snack, an entree or an addition to one of the new Sidecar Brew Co's Beers! New to the selection we have our Cast Iron Pizzas, beautiful soft and doughy, served in a cast iron skillet; Ceviche style fish tacos, with lime cured fish and coconut whip; Sticky and tender Asian Lamb Riblets (wow these are good); Loaded Cheeseburger nachos and if you want a hit try the Gunpowder Chicken!
After something refreshing for those big sunny days? We have 4 great salads to pick from, traditional Caesars, to our NZ Lamb Salad with tomatoes, mint, red peppers and feta. The CBK Salad is still in play, a regular's favorite, and who can go wrong with our home smoked chicken poppers on a crispy salad topped with goats cheese and kumara chips.
We have 2 new Stonegrills; Beef tenderloin and seafood combo and a wood smoked triple pork chop with is not for the faint hearted and comes with a shot of Tennessee whisky, blowtorch crackling and caramelised apple.
With the desserts on offer, we’re sure you’ll find extra room somewhere for a sweet treat. The summer strawberries are always amazing and our new Strawberry Prosecco Tart leaves nothing to the imagination. Filled with mascarpone, topped with whipped cream and served with Appleby farms Bedford Vanilla perfect with a glass of bubbles. Our famous skillet cookie has grown a little sister and her name is Pic! Pic’s Peanut Butter Cookie comes with salted caramel sauce and your choice of Appleby Farms ice-cream!
